I’ve been listening to this non-stop the past week or so. It’s a great, laidback album for the fall. The track ‘Municipality’ is one of my favorites from the record. Listen below, then listen to the rest on NPR.

NEON INDIAN — Polish Girl (Era Extrana, 2011)
NPR just posted this new video from Neon Indian, for his track ‘Polish Girl.’ The video was directed by Tim Nackashi, apparently in collaboration with the Creators Project. The song’s not my favorite off the album, but the video is pretty cool — looks like it’s taking place in some sort of mad computer genius’ lab until he leaves to trail his Donnie Darko-esque time slug around the city. The whole thing is appropriately retro-futuristic.

NEON INDIAN — Polish Girl (Era Extraña, 2011)
Neon Indian released another new song from his upcoming sophomore album Era Extraña today via NPR’s All Songs Considered, called ‘Polish Girl.’ It’s a very electronic, very 8-bit track that bleeps and bloops all over the place.
It definitely seems to indicate a new direction for Neon Indian’s sound, as it comes across as much less psychedelic and lysergic and more electro-pop than most of the songs on Psychic Chasms. However, it still benefits from having Alan Palomo’s quirky, retro-obsessed fingerprints all over it, making it a fun 8-bit electro jam.
‘Polish Girl’ will be available for download from iTunes on August 4th. Era Extraña is out September 13 via Static Tongues / Mom + Pop Records.
