I’m guessing that this performance was recorded and released as some sort of ‘proof’ that she can in fact sing — which I do think she’s succeeded in proving. She sounds pretty much exactly like the recording (with a few exceptions), which I guess means nothing if you didn’t like the song to begin with.
Lana Del Rey performs Blue Jeans live at the Premises, backed by a solo guitarist. Swamped in white and VHS faux-crackles, the pop-sensation flips her hair and purses her lips whilst convincing someone to love her with lyrics like “u fit me better than my favourite sweater” and “no please, stay here, we don’t need no money, we can make it all work”.
