Animal Collective — “Did You See the Words” [Live]
Super excited to be going to this show tonight at Merriweather Post Pavilion! The new stage setup looks amazing! Here’s a great video of ‘Did You See The Words,’ shot by George over at AWD Castles.Such an enlightening experience to have finally caught an Animal Collective show. As I’ve heard prior to this show, Animal Collective played a whole lot of new material. A lot of variant styles in these new songs as well, enough to be completely stoked about the new record. The song above is one of ~4 songs that weren’t new and the only one that wasn’t off of Merriweather Post Pavillion.
As part of a collaboration with Keep Company shoes, the members of Animal Collective have each contributed a previously unreleased track to be included on a cassette tape that will accompany each pair of AC+Keep shoes. The tape has been ripped by members of the Collected Animals fan forum.
The profit from the shoes/cassette go to the Socorro Island Conservation Fund so if you can, buy a pair of the shoes.

Animal Collective releases video for ‘Bluish’
Bluish is definitely my favorite Animal Collective song (for its simple, yet heartfelt, lyrics and beautiful Beach-Boys-like harmonies that bubble up throughout) and they’ve released a video today that is worthy of the brilliance of the song. There’s a lot of bubbles and dripping liquids and interestingly enough, a lot of blacklights and star-like objects. It’s not entirely what I envisioned when I listen to Bluish but I like this interpretation all the same.
