Emily Joanna Newsom (Ys, 2006)
This song is obviously not new at all, but it’s new to me. I’ve read about Joanna Newsom for a long time on various blogs and music websites but I’ve never really gotten into her music until recently. It was actually the movie, The Strangers that turned me on to her song “The Sprout and the Bean.”
This song, “Emily” is a longer one (just over 12 minutes) but just as tranquil and shows Newsom’s lyrical talent.
